Valentine Brownies

It’s Valentine’s!! I am obsessed with all things heart shaped right now and that gives me a perfectly good excuse to whip up some of my family’s favorite fudgy brownies.  I was always a die hard Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Chip brownie kinda gal until I discovered these and now I will never look back.  I don’t usually believe in frosting brownies because I think the brownie itself is just perfect.  But in order to make these extra special, a simple homemade chocolate frosting or ganache with sprinkles on top makes it even more festive.  I’m pretty sure these can be considered an aphrodisiac.  Derrick says, “THESE ARE THE BEST BROWNIES I’VE EVER HAD”. Then suddenly my kids flock to me with hearts in their eyes.  And my favorite part about these brownies is that they are made with simple ingredients that you most likely already have in you kitchen.  Enjoy! xo

Best Brownies Ever

12 ounce bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips

    3/4 cup butter

    1 1/4 cup sugar

    1 tablespoon vanilla

    4 eggs

    1 teaspoon salt

    1 cup flour

Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly flour a 13x9 inch baking pan. Set aside a small handful of chocolate chip. Melt the remaining chocolate chips and butter in a bowl and stir until smooth. Let cool for 10 minutes.  Add sugar, vanilla, eggs to mixer and stir oil combined.  Slowly stir in flour and salt.  Stir inthe melted chocolate chips. Pour into pan and bake for 30 minutes.

Like I said, these don’t need to be frosted but the chocolate frosting recipe I used was divine! Or if you prefer a ganache that would be yummy too. Happy V Day!!
